Program Parameters

Program Parameters – do your systems use these?

A fairly recent feature, Program Parameters allow the programmer to connect information from one program to another program. This was formerly impossible by using Program Tags – but the newer Program Parameters have the ability to transfer information between separate programs – without using the more familiar “global” controller tags.

While this approach gives the programmer a lot of extra power and flexibility, it can also be quite challenging to the maintenance technicians while troubleshooting a problem. It is quite common to see inadequately trained technicians waste expensive downtime while chasing after the wrong source of the controller’s signals.

If your programs make use of this relatively new feature, our classes have hands-on exercises to bring you up to speed on how to deal with these critically important job skills in real-world situations.
